Daimler AG takes a systematic approach to identify and avoid systemic risks and possible negative effects of our business activities on human rights early on: The Human Rights Respect System (HRRS). In the scope of the HRRS, Daimler has identified potential risk raw materials. The aim is to gradually make the supply chains for these potential risk raw materials transparent and to take risk-based measures.
During the assessment of the natural rubber supply chain, Daimler decided to become a member of the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR) starting in January 2021. The main objective of the platform is to lead improvements in the socioeconomic and environmental performance of the natural rubber value chain.
As a member of the platform, Daimler is working together with other stakeholders to harmonize standards, improve compliance with human rights, prevent land grabbing and deforestation, preserve biodiversity and water resources, improve income and increase transparency and traceability in the natural rubber supply chain.
