Daimler North America Corporation has set-up a new entity in the US. This start-up company (MB ExTra LLC) manages the Supply Chain for US-suppliers shipping to non-US Mercedes Benz Cars & Van plants, functions as a Trading House for business relationships with US entities and performs transportation planning services in NAFTA. The organization already employs approx. 30 team members and is expected to continue to grow in size as well as in its area of responsibilities. MB ExTra is a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler North America Corporation and is located next to Mercedes Benz U.S. International, Inc. in Vance, AL.
Across its various responsibilities, the entity is staffed by professional employees in the area of MRP, Logistics Process Planning, Ramp-up Management, Warehouse Management, Customs Processing, Quality Management, Supplier Quality Engineering, Capacity Management, Inbound Transportation Planning, Vehicle Distribution Planning, Finance, Accounting and Controlling. It also manages an external service provider that operates a warehouse in Texas on MB ExTra’s behalf.
